In effect the magician displays a playing card and borrows a matchstick. The matchstick is placed across the card and a spectator asked to concentrate on it. Uncannily the matchstick rises, and floats over the card. Another card is passed under the match, proving there is no support from beneath. Finally the match floats down on to the card. All this is right under the audiences nose.
